Virtual Meeting

Town Hall is currently closed due to the ongoing labour disruption. This meeting is scheduled to be held in a fully virtual format, with Members of Council and all other attendees participating remotely in accordance with Section 7 of Procedure By-law # 7462-18.

Council direction required. 

Note: The motion for an Interim Control By-law for new low barrier shelters and/or transitional housing was deferred from the September 25, 2023 Committee of the Whole meeting to October 30, 2023 to allow additional time to negotiate an agreement with the Region of Durham relating to the use of 1635 Dundas Street East (the Dundas Street Shelter) in order to address the concerns raised by residents. The negotiated agreement is provided in Correspondence # 2023-533 above for Council’s consideration and direction.

Confirmatory By-law

• Recommendation:

  That leave be granted to introduce a by-law and to dispense with the reading of the by-law by the Clerk to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Town of Whitby at its special meeting held on October 30, 2023 and the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
